WIGZ and the British Consulate

WIGZ was recently approached by the British Consulate as part of their ‘Communications and Reach Out’ campaign. This campaign is trying to improve its communications with British nationals living in the Netherlands.
WIGZ has agreed to pass on information from the British Consulate to our British members. So to everyone how has completed the WIGZ questionnaire and listed their nationality as British you will be receiving a communique from the British Consulate (via WIGZ) very soon.

Passport renewal for British Passport holders.

Since January 2009 it has no longer been possible to renew a British passport in the Netherlands.

To renew your passport you must download a form C1, complete it, attach all the relevant documents and then send it together with your old passport to Paris.

There is an alternative if you are planning a trip to the UK and your passport is due to expire.

You can make a Premium same day appointment at your nearest U.K. passport issuing office, no more than 2 weeks in advance.

You still of course have to provide all the relevant documents and a completed form (this can be done at the passport office but remember to take all the other certificates and your old passport with you) but you will receive your new passport within 4 hours.

Not the nicest way to spend a day perhaps but the service is there if you want to take advantage of it.

WIGZ is now affiliated with the Open Door to Associations of International Women.  This exciting development gives our members access (whether when relocating or just visiting) to International Women's Groups all over the world.  For more information click here

WIGZ Mums and Tots is up and running.  Sheri Bos has kindly volunteered to manage this important WIGZ group which provides support for mothers with children of all ages.  It's also a great opportunity for children to meet and socialise with other english speaking children.  If you are interested or want to find out more  please contact Sheri at wigzzers@gmail.com for more details.

WIGZ at Facebook - we are constantly trying out different ways of getting information out to our members and with this in mind have recently set up a group on Facebook.  If you are a member of Facebook or would like to be invited to join us please let us know and we will issue an invitation to you via this social network.
