Family Fun Day Sept. 2008

Sunday 9th of September was our first Family Fun Day of the new WIGZ season and the North Sea (square) Dancers came along to get us off to a swinging start.  The theme for this FFD was the USA and there were, as usual, lots of yummy things to eat.  The dancers first gave a demonstration of this very technical way of dancing…and then it was our turn to try out the “doe se doe’s” and “promenades” for those of us who have difficulty knowing the difference between left and right this was very challenging but once again we were “saved by the children” who were absolute naturals at squaring off with the professionals, some of them were so good they will be joining the Dancers on a regular basis.

Once again this was a great day out for all the family and it was wonderful to introduce one of our newest members to the rest of the group, I am of course talking about the gorgeous Helmi who was there with her very proud parents Pirjo and David.
